Abstract.

This project will look at the physical, chemical and mathematical phenomenon in the digestion of each food and how they relate to each other. Below is a brief summary of the topics that will be seen in this project. To begin with, in the physical field we talk about kilocalories and calories, the difference between them, what they are and what their process is. The kilocalorie is a variant to measure in kilograms, it indicates the amount of energy that can be given to an organism; A calorie is a unit of measurement, but it does not measure weight or length, it measures the amount of heat needed to raise the temperature of 1 gram of water by 1 degree Celsius. Well, basically, if we talk about energy provided by food, the correct thing would be to express it in kilocalories (kcal) but calories (cal) are based on smaller amounts. Metabolism is the process by which your body converts what you eat and drink into energy. During this complex process, the calories provided by food and combined with oxygen to release the energy your body needs to function. After this process the more calories the kilocalories are produced. The project will explain how to obtain kilocalories from the food we consume. In the chemical field, an explanation of digestion will be given, how it begins and its relationship with chemistry this process is called metabolism, it will also be known how it begins and how it becomes energy transformation processes, heat is generated and that is the reason why all living beings give off heat. Also as it is that the foods based on the metabolism generate glucose because, the body warns the pancreas that it needs to release insulin to treat the increase in the level of sugar in the blood. In the mathematical field you will see the counting of calories in the metabolism and calculation of nutrients all this using the Harris-Benedict formula Currently these calculations are performed to keep us healthy, it is essential to have a healthy diet. There are many tools that allow us to know what our caloric requirements are, according to our age, height, weight, gender and physical activity. To get the caloric requirements, we need to first get the basal metabolic rate (MBR), which is the amount of daily calories our body needs to maintain the basic functions of the body.
